- fantastic cover version of a police classic and probably much better than the original.......let down by some truely horrible camera work...the camera man should be suspended by his balls until he promises never to touch a camera again
- i love this version. im not saying its better than the original police version. this version is just really chill. i honestly dont know which version i like better.
- I dunno, I don't think he's a weak singer, but i do see that his style and his melody are rawer than say Jeff Buckley whose melodic range in pitch was greater than John Butler's but all the same they're two completely different artists, so it's not fair to compare. And I do love this guy's music!
- I don't see why anyone would say that his singing is weak; I love his voice...
- This is a great cover, John Butler is an outstanding Musician, It's all really from the heart; you can tell. I've heard people's criticism is that his weakness is in his singin but I view that this is more than compensated with his skill on guitar and the style of music he plays too! Great song!
- it's in open G I believe, look at his fingering it shouldnt be that tough if you play around with it.
- this guy is the greatest ever!
- i wanna learn this version on the guitar
- king of roath u must suck balls jelousy is a curse fag boy
- stupid people from the cameras, just when the solo starts , they move the friking camera to the other guy, that pisses me off dude U_U
- This is like the really chill version.
kinda the better.
- another reason is because since the 2nd G is an octave above it is only 3 semitones higher than that high E and it kinda adds some dissonance when playing those strings at the same time...
- "With the tunings that he uses, the string would snap, so he just leaves it out. "
Actually in Open C tuning, that string is a G, just like it is in standard. The reason he takes it off is its the highest string on the guitar. It just sounds so weird with the songs he plays, I guess. It also prob makes soloing easier.
- Which, as he always plays with this configuration, makes it, er... an eleven string....moron
- With the tunings that he uses, the string would snap, so he just leaves it out.
- Great guitar work. What's he got against that one string that's missing!
- Hi it's called open c tuning. Most of his songs are in this tuning cheers.
