Ozzy Osbourne (born John Michael Osbourne, December 3, 1948 in Aston, Birmingham, England) is the lead vocalist of the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath and the star of the reality show, The Osbournes. In addition to lead vocals with Black Sabbath, Osbourne also plays the harmonica and synthesizer.
As a solo artist, Osbourne has sold over 27 million albums in the US, and 50 million worldwide.[citation needed] Two of his albums, Blizzard of Ozz (1980) and No More Tears (1991), are certified quadruple-platinum, for sales of over 4 million copies in the US.
No More Tears...
No More Tears is an album by Ozzy Osbourne. It was released on October 19, 1991 and it was re-issued on August 22, 1995.
Guitarist Zakk Wylde contributed songwriting and guitar to the album, while Motörhead's bassist/vocalist Lemmy co-wrote four songs. Although Mike Inez is seen playing bass in several of the album's videos, long-time Ozzy bassist Bob Daisley plays on the entire album. Though Inez was an official member of the band, the Osbournes had a longstanding working relationship with Daisley and had also asked him to write lyrics, as he did for all of Ozzy's '80s releases. While his bass playing remains on the album, Daisley's lyrics were not used. Inez is credited as a writer for the title track, yet does not perform on the song either.[1]
This is Ozzy's second album to go Quadtruple Platinum, and has sold about 3,875,327 copies.
Zakk Wylde...
Zakk Wylde (born Jeffrey Phillip Wiedlandt on January 14, 1967 in Bayonne, New Jersey) is a lead guitarist, pianist, singer and songwriter, best known for his role as founder of Black Label Society and guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne. Wylde was lead guitarist and vocalist in Pride & Glory, who released one self-titled album in 1994 before disbanding. As a solo artist he released the critically acclaimed Book of Shadows in 1996. Wylde's playing is characterised by his liberal use of pinch harmonics and the pentatonic scale.
