- um...that dident realy awnser my question... lol
- @VideoGameUploads lmao,I have no issues but common sense
when you go visit someone, place or another culture a little research on the customs is most likely in order. Like the saying goes:" When in Rome do as the Romans do." The bottom line is R-E-S-P-E-C-T plain and simple.
- @DaveTheSamurai lol, like he said, they probably dont know
anything about that culture, and there seems to be people here resulting to racism.
Which is pretty pathetic, people like you need to sort out some issues you have.
- Sounds like a bunch of white people to me = Culturally
retarded. Too much english and American attitude for them to be from East Asia.
- thanks for writing that little note at the top, I am From
New Zealand and I still take that very offensive.
- Well perhaps the people didn't meant no offence, but it was
damn offending!!
Someone should have told them that, it was very rude!
- Well if you had your way, brother and sister marriages would
become common law and practice. Ease up dude!
Same for you fun loving hori's give it a rest eh? I guess we may have done the same thing in a foreign country also.
- im from the philippines but im into maori culture study.
maybe people who were laughing wre just amazed maybe with the moves. please we should not fight over this.
- It's an observation from your precious Australia Day
outings, white trash gorging on meat, wearing flags as capes, mindlessly drunken violence towards women, children and anyone hinting of varying ethnicity including Indigenous Australians.
Obvious, because you have so much to be proud of...not.
Bashed any Indians lately?
- @maoribattalion anger and alcohol abuse? sounds like u are
describing your own kind, the type that punishes his own kids with cigarette burns and brutal violence.
- My my angry lil man aren't we?
Are you upset that your
country already is a third world shithole, wallowing in white guilt over it's genocide?
I can understand, suppressed guilt leads to anger and alcohol abuse.
How sad for you.
- im white and i dont agree wiv wha all the ignorant people
have been saying i personally find the maori way amazing and i am currently learning maori im not any good yet but i do love the traditional ways. and respect you ancestary roots
- If i had my way i would pull all the whites out of new
zealand and leave u racicist cunts there just like u have always wanted then we would all stand back and watch while new zealand falls back into the dark ages.
it wouldnt be long before it turns into a lawless thirdworld shithole like somalia.
- Still crying over that flogging we gave you in the
1800s?
Hahaha shackle draggers, cry me a river biac
- can anyone tell me how to copy this video to use for a
school project. I want to add it to a powerpoint and have no idea how to do so.
- Love Maori traditions even though i dont know much. They
seem very into their heritage and love thier country. Gonna learn a lot more after having watched a few of these videos
- Too much brother. Fucken disrespectful as laughing. Doesn't
matter where your from. If I was doing that Wero I prob would have lost it and attacked about 5 people in that crowd to teach them a life lesson. I did a Wero at my cousins wedding and a few people laughed until I got up in there face swinging the taiaha about an inch from there nose. They stopped laughing real quick. It's fair enough people don't know our culture but come on some people need some common sense.
Ka mau te wehi e hoa.
- thats some special talent they have ther..
- war? which war? Vietnam or Korea? LOL
- I sure as heck wouldn't be laughing if that guy came up to
me doin that, id be shitting my pants, but thanks to youtube i know he's just saying hi.
(i hope)
- The laughing is really disrespectfull. It would be like me
urinating on the American flag and posting it on YouTube. As a New Zealander I find this really offensive.
- Man... I'm American, and just wanted to say that I got my
facts right before moving to NZ. The first (and every) time I experienced a haka, I did not laugh. The retard next to me did, and he got bashed at school the next day lol. I think, it's just a general issue, because NZ is such a small country, and the fact is, that most people don't see the need to research the culture of another country before visiting. Quite a shame really.
- Yet, you cant even spell YOU.
Nor win a war against "dumb"
people, or even win the League Cup, against Maori's....in your own country.
- well, they are either American or Israelis... to have a lack
of understanding... In real tradition a Maori warrior would pierce with the taha na spear that fat pig in front... but, they are tourists, so let they be... ...ignorants... I will laugh when I get into a synagogue next time...
- ma ke kazzo ridono quei coglioni ...teste di cazzo

(less)On the shores of Lake Wakatipu near Queenstown, New Zealand, we were welcomed by the local Maori with a "powhiri". It's a challenge. You're offered a feather or piece of fern and if you don't
pick it up, it means you are there for a fight. So you pick it up. :-)
The attendees were employees attending a regional, Asia/Pacific company conference. They were unaware this group was about to turn up in jet boats. Most people there were from around Asia or places other than New Zealand. They weren't aware of the correct protocol. The free Lindaur bubbly laid on had people fairly relaxed.
2008-11-09: I've uploaded more video from this vent. Each is a video response to the one before it.
