- I didn't know that it had not always been white - I thought
it was made of white marble. Cool to see the history.
- This was said because the alleged tomb was converted to a
Church by britons.
- 6LARISA9, thanks for your efforts! Love the poetry of
Muslim India.
- "I would give thanks unto my God unto the day of
resurrection
Ah! could I behold the face of my beloved once more
this is the exact translation of what he wrote on her grave...also he wrote the 99 names of allah/god...
- also at the end the narrater says.."at day its full of
typing and office work but as night appears it becomes a magical place with a myst of romance tht only lovers can see...which is unseen by historians..."
i tried my best i hope u understand
- the prince later when took the throne and became the
emperor, made a tomb aorund and constructed anarkali's grave, and wrote on it "if i could see ur face once again...i would spend the rest of my life without complaining till the judgement day.." many years later the sikhs took over lahore and the empire, the tomb beacme the home fr the sikh prince, later english took over and changed it into a church covering it in white, and now it is a office and holds many important files and documents
- It should be restored to its former glory as was the Taj
Mahal. In a short time every coin spent would be returned with interest in the blessings of Allah who has watched over this poor girls grave.
- Can someone translate the narration to English, please?
Did I hear the word "Hallelujah" in there? Was there really a cross atop that Mughul building?
- She is remembered. If the Illiad could exist in verse
memory for centuries, then surely Anakarli's sad story could be remembered as well.
- yeah some say she did exist ,some say she did;nt..in
biographies theres no mention of her because it was a huge scandal for the royal family ....according to an english man who travelled there during akbars time Anarkali was around 40 years old of syrian descent and she was very attractive
- it's a legend, some sources say it happened and some dont
mention it. there's really no way of telling except the mazaar IS there so it had to be put there for something right? no way to prove it still though.. for anarkali's sake i would hope it didn't happen, what a horrible death :(
- very bad, very sad for this Behurmati
SHAH-E-ALAM,
REHMAT UL RABB UL ALLMEEN, ASHRAF UL SIYASAT, AFTAB UL ADAB, BAB UL ILAM, BADR UL MOHABBAT, BEHR UL KHALOOS, RAFIQ UL GHARIB, KALIMULLAHA, BABUR NAFEES MAZQOOR KRISHAN BALDEV SINGH MOHAMMED SHAH RANGILA OF KOTLI-LOHARA
- Not sure is this historic that Anarkali existed in
reality???
There is no mention of Anarkali in AineAkbari and Jahngirnama biographis of father and son????
- yes rakhiye, its there.
- is this near the secretariate building?..i forget
- Bohat khoob janab!!
- anarkli's tomb is just five minutes walk from my place in
lahore...been there many times...its a 'record keeping office' now...i see them there, kiyoon ke main dil wala hoon....
