Comments on 'Where Daft Punk got their samples from' |
- omg, this song and video are so great, I love it!
I even
got the free ring tone from prizecell. com today!
- if you ask me they all copied off of daftpunk lol
- they did this alot for intrestella 5555 because the movie
was about famous musician and stuff, it all makes sense, just watch the movie.
- Slowing down music is simple
The only one that may be true
is at 0:46
Why? Listen just before it switches to Robot Rock.
- think it makes me like them even more ,shows theyve got a
good eye for decent samples, putting there own spin on it ,daft punk rule!!!!!!!
- Dont see what the problem is. Take a real look at music
today and you will find that every single one of them copied at least in part off of someone else. At least they have an original theme unlike 90% of artists today. Lets see there is the whiny brat, the slut, the good girl, redneck, country singer, criminal rap artist, angry rap artist (sometimes overlaps with the former,) angry rap artist, boy band, girl band (can't tell the difference), rock band, heavy metal band, and christian.
- been able to grab samples like this and mash em up like
daftpunk do is amazing. recycling at its best. especialy if the original was naff.
- Sampling includes not only copying certain parts of a song,
but also changing/improving it. These samples are just plainly copy/pasted, that ain't sampling, that's more 'covering'. I respect what Daft Punk have done, but these are some of the laziest sample re-works i've ever heard.
- i love this video i like seeing where songs came from then
hearing the original
- Huh. Kind of a disappointment, especially Crescendolls and
Robot Rock. I thought they were original tunes..
- Wow. That's kind of a bummer. Guess I was stupid for
thinking they made all those phat beats themselves.
- Yeah Thomas Bangalter fucking loves Electro-Funk.
- baaiters
- Ok they used a lot of samples but the great thing about Daft
Punk is they made the music accessable to a huge audience who would never had heard the originals in the first place so in that respect I love them.
- this 40 year old loves the trend! good for everyone.
- In my honest opinion they're almost pushing it to how far
you can sample something.
sampling certainly can be an art, but some of this is just too similar from the originals for my taste.
Whatever though, I still like me some Daft Punk.
- Well, in the end, you can't create anything for nothing,
that's just how culture works, to improve what the previous generation did, so how can you blame them?
Thanks for the reference =)
- Igual, si estan tomando los trabajos de otros y
utilizandolos para su música, qué tiene eso de malo cuando hacen UN EXCELENTE TRABAJO, malo es cuando "musicos" sacan esos covers malos de buenas canciones.
- You mean "Crescendolls" Track nr. 5 from the 2nd Album
Discovery
Du meinst wohl "Crescendolls" Track 5 des 2ten Albums Discovery
- anyone know tha name of their thrid song on here?
- and nowadays you hear tracks that were copied from Daft
Punk. xD Nice how everyone copies from each other...
- lol so true!! i agree with you!
daft punk is just great!
- they're a techno/elctronica band. that's what they do, they
hear things and they're like shit we can make that sound better.
i applaud them.
- oops... (typo)... meant to spell (God ) this way. no
worries, it matters to me that's all
- i thank god for remxes. no wait really good remixes. dance
clubs and gyms & a like use them all the time. @ one time i wanted 2 b an aerobics teacher, while learning bout how set up a class. i learned the reason the music @ the above uses them. we learned that our bodies can move faster that the normal set beat music. so to help get you moving there tends 2 b a hyper track/remix added. i don't teach class but now i pick up on most remix and were it really came more now. so have dance :o}

Here's where the samples on some of my favourite Daft Punk tracks came from. It's all legit, paid in full, above board. Still strange to hear, though.

The samples were spotted by http://www.ishkur.com/samples/ and the music was collected by http://palmsout.blogspot.com/2007/02/sample-wednesday-27-daft-punk.html
I just did the video editing.
