Comments on 'Where Daft Punk got their samples from' |
- and they are all bland musical abortions, yeah
- daft punk have also songs without samples
- they used samples, all french house dj`s normally use them,
is natural and is fuckin awesome
- @jude480
TRON: soundtrack
- @GabrielSiolari its not like they stole it they put the
orginal craters on the credits i cant see why people make a big deal about this
- @Illmatic1988 hey thanks for mentioning that, i wondered
what you were talking about and looked it up, its crazy.
- Dude.. They Are DJ'S
They REMIX MUSICS --'
- Robot Rock
- Whats the last song by Daft Punk called?
- All electronic music samples. I don't know how people don't
realize this and think for some reason it's only in hip hop.
Hell Drum and Bass music is pretty much based around one sample, the "Amen" drum break.
- @Raiden1000002 These days? Daft Punk is fucking old
- True.
- DAAAAAAA
- They get permission from each author, if there making an
album.
- Nice
- @Raiden1000002 that's interesting
- @DeathMechanism88 not if they're selling it in an album
- @Raiden1000002 true. true. but noadays its soo hard to get
original stuff because theyres soo many songs and bands out there. it must be really hard.
- ...thats a DJ's job as an artist and musician, to search for
songs to remix and sample. You are fucking retarded if you think that DJing has nothing to do with sampling and remixing... its what the genre was created upon. MAYBE you should research on how you actually create beats and breaks and what equipment you would use, THEN you would understand this isn't stealing... it's DJing.
- they did get permission and they added all sorts of
awesomeness.
- In that case, it means they copied someone else's work even
if they did get permission,
I'm not bashing Daft Punk, I am in fact a big fan but why don't people have any original ideas these days?
- @Raiden1000002 but they got permission
- daft punk can sample without copyrighting , they are DJs
- they never denied it now did they? they specialize on this
giving these awesome tunes second birth. though i don't know what they do about all the copyright procedures etc
- So, they took someone else's song, changed it abit and acted
like it's their's?
From where I come from, that is called stealing.

Here's where the samples on some of my favourite Daft Punk tracks came from. It's all legit, paid in full, above board. Still strange to hear, though.

The samples were spotted by http://www.ishkur.com/samples/ and the music was collected by http://palmsout.blogspot.com/2007/02/sample-wednesday-27-daft-punk.html
I just did the video editing.
