  3. @BirdLoversOnly Im gonna look,an uncle had an African
    Grey...I loved it.
  4. talented bird, =^ )
  5. very cute biird .
  6. There are many people who do not work at home and have
birds. Some birds do better than others with an owner out
working for most of the day. The larger parrots
(cockatoos/macaws) live 80+ years, so you may consider a
medium sized bird since their life spans are not as
long. Irena Schulz - Bird Lovers Only Rescue
  7. Waiting until you retire isn't exactly the best choice.
Yes, you would be home all day. On the other hand, how much
energy will you have to devote to cleaning a bird cage
daily? (Feeding it, paying attention to it.) The cockatoos
are the highest maintenance bird. There are other birds
that do better without constant attention and also have rich
personalities such as African Grays and conures. Irena
Schulz - Bird Lovers Only Rescue
  8. Im 55, love birds but I am so worried that the rescue bird
wont accept me if im gone to work all day. I know they love
to be coddled and talked to of couse I head cockatoos were
one person birds. so would it be a winning situation.
Maybe wait till I retire? I do understand to a degree..
    Please tell me.
  9. I worked from home forever but now i go out to work. Would
the larger bird be too lonely with me gone all day. I know
t hey need some much love and time. Will it be enough?
  10. I know that Snowball was in the Economist last year. Was he
in there recently again? No, they did not contact me. Irena
Schulz - Bird Lovers Only Rescue
  11. This was in the economist! Did they contact you?
  12. If you are older, calm, and patient...you have all the
ingredients necessary to adopt the higher maintenance birds
such as the macaws and cockatoos. Please do a search for
rescues near you and look into adoption. There aren't
enough patient, loving, and calm people out there. Irena
Schulz - Bird Lovers Only Rescue
  13. I so enjoyed this. Thank You!! He/She really has the beat
too!! and loved the attention and the clapping. I see
Cockatoos for rescue at the pet store. I know wild birds
well and have had small pet birds that were tame. What's it
like to get one from a rescue. I'm older calm and patient.
    Kathy
  14. Lots of patience. Irena Schulz - Bird Lovers Only
  15. I dunno how you can put up with so many other parrots.
Horus, my Blue and Gold, is so demanding and I can't even
leave the room without him calling after me.
  16. LOL! You are so welcome! :D Irena Schulz - Bird Lovers

Snowball (TM) is a Medium Sulphur Crested Eleanora Cockatoo that dances to the Back Street Boys and other songs that he rates as having a "very good beat." He came to Bird Lovers Only Rescue Service, Inc. (a 501c3 not for profit bird rescue and sanctuary) in August 2007 and continues to make us laugh with his fancy footwork. We are currently raising funds to build a bird habitat for Snowball and other birds like him. Please visit us at http://www.birdloversonly.org to receive Snowball DVDs, shirts, and other items in return for your donations. Thank you so very much for your generous support of our cause!
