Arctic Monkeys - When The Sun Goes Down Live

Comments on 'Arctic Monkeys - When The Sun Goes Down Live'

  1. Arctic Monkeys Pure Class!
  2. I love this song <3
  3. Fender doesn't make an Arctic White American Stratocaster.
It's Olympic White. Why can't people accept this.
  4. Arctic Monkeys, elbow, kasabian and The Libertines that
would be the best gig line up ever
  5. i agree with you both are great. and i prefer Arctic Monkeys
    too..
  6. agree. the only good song ff ever have written is "take me
out" (an amazing song!), rest are pretty crappy. AM are the
    best band today.
  7. It's a different type of music, and both are good bands. I
prefer arctic monkeys, but I think Franz Ferdinand are great
too. Just because you like one, doesn't mean you can't like
    the other too
  8. nice silence to cover the error at the beginning...
  9. talent is the keyword
  10. Franz Ferdinand were good while they lasted. They only had a
couple of good songs that people had heard of/liked. Arctic
Monkeys are the best thing since porn, there songs are very
catchy and there lyrics are meaningful, much better than
"well do ya, do ya, do ya wanna"
  11. Made music, better music even.
  12. GET DA CROUD PUMPIN!!
  13. arctic monkeys are the fuckin dogs bollux mate.. what have
franz ferdinand done recently? nothin compared to the
    arctics
  14. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!
  15. i dont like 10 that much to be honest, but its not like i
hate it or something, its just that its not good as the
    rest. my fav are 1 2 3 8 9 11 15...young. nice good.
  16. yes, with a album i always find a song i dislike more than
the others. but with this i honestly couldn't find one! im
    15 :P
  17. ok...too much info lol. yet interesting, i admit. i got the
1st ff album and i admit i didnt listen to it more than like
5 times. and on the other hand last night i listened to the
am album 5 times in a row, its addictive. best album
    everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!1 whats ur age btw
  18. i have been blessed with a left testicle which is a little
bit larger than the right :) as an AM fan i would like to
see this man choke ON my left testicle which is larger then
my right for saying that FRANZ FERDINAND is better lol
:P but o well good for him for expressing his oppinion
:P and i agree take me out IS a good song lol :D
  19. where can you hear him (john?) sing! what song? I think
Petes voice is amazing, but I also love Alex's. But nothing
like Daves (DM) voice in the world.
  20. why not the right one? ;) I agree with you, they are not
that good, except take me out, one of my fav songs ever.
  21. I totally agree with you!
  22. I like them both :D
  23. what kind of insult was that lmao
  24. in the future? there already fucking huge best band int
    world
  25. If thats the only one you have, I guess he'll have no
    choice...

Turner used to play a Fender Arctic White American standard Stratocaster, and later a black American standard Fender Stratocaster guitar, both sporting maple fretboards, until the release of the band's single "Brianstorm" and the second album Favourite Worst Nightmare. When touring the new album he uses a black Fender Bronco with a black pickgaurd and rosewood fretboard, a guitar discontinued by Fender. Also, during live performances of "If You Were There, Beware", he uses a Gretsch Spectra Sonic. He uses Orange AD30T amplifiers. [10] He has also been using Bad Cat amps recently.

During the Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not-era Turner´s pedalboard consisted of two Pro Co Rat 2 distortion pedals and a Boss TU-2 tuner. Now, touring Favourite Worst Nightmare, he has replaced the Pro Co pedals with an Ibanez Ts-808 Vintage Tubescreamer overdrive pedal. He has also extended the pedalboard with a Hughes & Kettner Rotosphere MK2, a Danelectro Reel Echo, a Boss LS-2 Line Selector and an Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man.Turner has maintained a very private life, and shunned media publicity when declared the Coolest Man On The Planet by NME magazine in December 2005. He has distanced himself from the celebrity lifestyle, he and the band are often spotted around Sheffield, supporting local bands, returning to clubs such as 'The Leadmill'[citation needed] and watching their football team Sheffield Wednesday. Blender magazine have described him as "the least talkative member of the group, chewing over his answers for so long that he ends up doubting his own words"[11].Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not is the debut album by Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys, released on 23 January 2006. Recorded at Chapel Studios, Lincolnshire, before the band's first world tour, the album became the fastest selling debut album in the UK since records began, selling over 360,000 copies in its first week. It has since gone triple platinum in the UK [1], and won the 2006 Mercury Prize [2].

The album includes both tracks from the band's original EP, Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys, as well as their first two singles and UK Number Ones, "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" and "When the Sun Goes Down".The original release date was scheduled as 30 January 2006, but was brought forward to 23 January 2006 due to "high demand". Although the same was done with Franz Ferdinand, there remains continued speculation that the move was an attempt to counter the effects of the album's leak onto online file-sharing sites.[3] Although many of the tracks featured on the album were freely available to download in early 2005 from uploaded demo CDs given out by the band, the re-recorded album versions had also been leaked onto the internet by December 2005.

On the first day of its release, the album became the fastest selling debut rock album in British history, selling just under 120,000 copies. By the end of the week, the album had sold 363,735 copies - more than the rest of the Top 20 combined and making it the overall fastest selling debut album in British history. Its release in the United States on 21 February 2006 saw it become the second fastest selling debut indie album in history [4] , turning over around 34,000 copies in its first week and achieving #24 in the album charts. The album also went to #1 in Australia and Ireland.

The track "Mardy Bum", while not released as a single, appeared on radio playlists throughout the UK in mid-2006 [citation needed]. The track "A Certain Romance" was ranked #90 in Pitchfork Media's Top 100 Tracks of 2006[5].The week before its release, the source behind the album's name was revealed as a quote from northern actor Albert Finney and the 1960s film Saturday Night and Sunday Morning. [6] The band are reportedly fans of old British '60s movies, and lead singer Alex Turner revealed to UK-tabloid The Sun that the film is what the album is about. "Songs including "The View from the Afternoon", "Dancing Shoes", "Still Take You Home" and "From the Ritz to the Rubble" all cover that bit of the weekend and feature the same character." [7]
