Comments on 'Leontyne Price sings "O mio babbino caro"' |
- Renee Fleming's version appears to me to be much better and
would be my number one version were it not for Victoria de los angeles, who within her range of roles, and as a singer rather than an actress, appears to have been almost impossibly talented. Check her rendition of this version out and let me know what you think!
- Love her final high A.
- @dutimus77 Just as I said.
- @couturesixfour That's the concertmaster, the primo
violinist and leader of the orchestra (the NBrits call him the leader). For a soloist to shake his hand is a way of recognizing the orchestra.
- Rushed and not my favourite rendition of this aria.
- Couteresixfour, she is thanking the conductor and then the
first violinist, who is the second in command of the orchestra so to speak...a very prestigious position.
Also, as for the tempo, it's a bit rushed because it is her second encore, not a part of her main concert. by this point to do it a tempo would be too much for the audience having already experienced an entire concert and an encore already. Good points though.
- i'm not the opera buff...but is it custom to shake the hand
of the musician on the right there. i've seen other singers in clips do that. they address the audience, then the conductor, and then the person far right. lemme know someone?
- very beautiful, very graceful
- I agree also on it being rushed. I don't see it being her
fault at all...it's the conductor's.
- creo si me permite mi opiniòn, que es una intermedia, 2.28
està justa. Si supera este tiempo, se hace himno. El ritmo es fundamental, el problemita que es corta la composiciòn. gracias
- I agree; it felt rushed. The conductor seemed to be in a
hurry. There was not enough time to enjoy each facet. It was an encore. I wonder, did the musician's union stipulate "no over-time"?
- To my personal taste the tempo was a little bit too high.
Technically 100% but the emotion had no time to settle in her performance.
- Leontyne is a gift from God.....
- es muy ràpida esta versión
- which language is that? it looks like espiranto
- I've been going thru singers after singers on YouTube
singing this song and this voice of Ms.Price is sounding exceptional and, while lacking charm, sounds deep, magnificent, and powerful.
- I simply can't believe how great she was. Her voice is
great, versatile and touching! Miles ahead from Callas!
- WOW WOW WOW!!! That was amazing! She sings so
incredible!!! Amazing!
- Her voice has so many nuances with every note she sings;
that's why I consider her the greatest soprano (she can sing anything).
- Very, Very GOOD.. BEAUTIFUL BEYOND RECGONITION
- Brilliant.
- Wonderful from Dame Price!...wonderful.
- what a congregation of connoisseurs ?
and " critizeirs and
blahblahsseirs "
enjoy, let enjoy ..and shut the f. up !!
- I think it is rude and disrespectful to talk about or
endorse another performing while on anothers website. If we wanted to read about callas we would be at her website. all we would have to do is wobble on over there and listen to the wobblitura
- Perfectamente!!!
