- That's weird/cool how the pistons are installed.
- I really like the STI engine but i prefer the room that a
Legacy GT Wagon or Forester. Anyone know where i can get accurate info on the best mods to do? I already have a Legacy GT but don't really like the Twin turbo setup...unless there is twin turbo set ups that can give me good go power. pls let me know if any of you can help
- I see thanks.
- b/c it isnt a V shape. You cant access the crank to bolt on
the connecting rods
- So, correct me if iam wrong. Subaru has a hole that you have
to line the connecting rod, piston and wrist pin??? Why cant you do it normally?
- Air-con! Noooooooooo bye bye Torque
- Awful music to complement that awful torque wrench :)
- @yuri
0:26 2.5ltr US STI short block is more cost effective
but be careful, cause there r 4 or 5 different models of shortblock & depending on where u want to go,has a big effect on the compression ratio, cam timing & eng longevity
1:14 if done internal damage to eng, change oil cooler, cause all the metal bits will come out & do more damage
Used all other existing add-ons of old eng
Oiled all the new components of new block b4 fitting
4:40 Rings easy to snap.Compress rings to get through bore

Here, no money!
No money here!
lol
- Well torque it up big man!
I love these guys vids.
So tired
of watching ppl be hoons in cars [with exceptions of course]
Much rather watch & learn the science of cars, especially the Suba's!
Thanks for uploading

- Lose the music!!!!!
- great info
- @aussietotheend
No its not. MY04 Rs has open deck and Sti
is semi closed deck. The engine of your choice would be EJ255 or EJ257. The short block is identical on both. The only difference is in the heads.
- i think he was tryin to say its cheaper to source a new
engine than have one rebuilt!
- id expect this kind of music on a honda vid
- is this 2.5l short block the same as the myo4 rs subaru
impreza engine which is also 2.5l or is different again?
- I completely agree with you. This track adds an otherwise
informative clip a really 'cheap' 'teenage riceish' atmosphere.
- He was just saying it was cheaper to source a 2.5L STI
shortblock, than to source a JDM Version 6 STI shortblock (EJ20K). I dissagree, there are cheaper 2.0L alternatives, but i'm not an aussie and prices down there might be different then here in the US.
- SORRY FOR MY UNDERSTANDING BUT WHAT THE TRICK HERE?SOMEONE
COULD XPLAINT TO ME;CAUSE I DIDNT UNDERSTAND TAHT FUKIN ACCENT.
so the trick is to change the JDM block for a USDM block that has the particularity to be 2.5 so the JDM block has 2.0 flat?
- "KA" sucks, so does the rest of the music bed. Great for
drowning out potentially good dialog.
- GC8 gearbox suck
- Thats funny. My friend Adam just bought an S13 body style
240sx. I forgot what year he said it was. very early 90's. He is buying an SR20 for it. If it isnt an SR20 in there already, buy a new one.
- wow... nice learning video.
Cheers.
- Haynes
- well you have a good engine, you should just do a rebuild. I
would get a new crank though... unless your mechanic says the old one is in good enough shape. At least get it balanced!
