Comments on '231 HP ON 043 CASTING' |
- its sound and performance but basically sound
- Stingers add more power then straight pipes as they create
'vacume' reducing backpressure of exhaust gasses. adds about 5% more HP
- they're called Stingers. They're the equivalent of running
straight pipes on say, a V8
- @urbex2007 megaphone, i think its just loud. but there must
be some basic go fast principle from the 60's in effect here. you see them alot on small displacement high revving super loud go nowhere engines alot...
- What is that type of exhaust called? I have seen a few of
them on Beetles and wondered about them. Is it just for sound or does it do anything for performance?
- Didn't mean to RUFFLE any feathers here with my LACK OF
KNOWLEDGE at the time I posted this video. It is 043 casting, ported by the Brothers Machine shop. These heads won 2nd place @ the last VW trends dyno day, 185hp on a chasis dyno inside of Sinjin Tigers bug. I'll post the specs later today.
- they inlet ports would need machining for better flow, and
the exhausts the same, they would also need massive valves and highlift rockers, and then as has been said they need to be machined for any engine 1776 and above as the cyl wont fit the bore of the head.
therefore they may be vw made, but far from stock
- You can call them stock if the are stock in the first place.
Now other than stock is if you have a pair of say CB Performance "Street Eliminators" or "Comp Eliminators". Or Pauter, AutoCraft, or Super Flo.
I know that stock heads in stock configuration will NOT produce that much HP. I was just trying to figure out what "groovylu" meant by stock heads.
- cant have stock heads on a motor that is bigger than a 1776
the got to be machined
- 42 x 37.5 valves and wedge ports don't make those heads
stock. those are modified. so i guess that's a stock engine making 230 hp just with a bigger crank, bigger p's and c's, a bigger cam and bigger carbs.when you say stock heads i thought you meant pulling them off a 1600 and putting them on this and making 230hp with ports the size of a quarter and stock valves.
- Look you numb-nuts, you can use stock heads. I guess you all
never heard of port and polish, big valves, big cam, etc.
You guys are just a bunch of turbo-lovers who can't deal with the truth!
- For anyone who wants an engine like this one and lives in
California, Los Angeles near the San Fernando Valley, send me a msj, real good prices, 1835cc starting at$1500ex.
- stock heads??? yer maybe
- HAHAHA and thats it. :-)
- If this is true you have to recalibrate your dyno...
- the head may be stock...
just a high lift camshaft and
reinforced valve springs.....
but the head is still stock. (I don't think it is)
- Stock heads my ass.
- WOW....
- it would be nice to have the part list ;valvessize....
- for that sise 230hp is impressive, now put it on a street
bike, or a go-kart
- "Stock" heads...give me a break.
Based on "stock"
castings...sure, but why spout idiotic nonsense like the title of the vid??
Just makes you look stupid to anyone who knows what they're talking about.
- LOL I don't think the single port would even make 200hp with
the 250hp shot on there! back to commenting the video. "RAWR-RAWR!" damn love to have a drag car to take out every other weekend.
- that is FUCKING BEAUTIFUL...lol. id like to put that in my
'71 haha
- WHO CARES ! !
- got some single ports pushin 300 hp...with a single shot 250
nitros
