Anna Netrebko, Ramon Vargas, O soave fanciulla

Comments on 'Anna Netrebko, Ramon Vargas, O soave fanciulla'

  1. agunte los pibes
  2. Pauline-I'd suggest you get your ears checked, and try
refreshing your memory. I won't hold your age against you.
But this is not remotely close to Pava & Freni. Your memory
is failing you. I presume you have seen Pava & Freni live.
  3. This is great! Both Vargas and Netrebko are singers of LINE
with great technique; this is so much better than with
Villazon its amazing...not up to gold standard of Pavarotti
and Freni or Pavarotti and Contrubas but quite close, very
close; I'd have loved to see Pavarotti with Netrebko.
  4. Bien el gordito!! Anna como siempre, exitante!!
  5. Vargas made in México!
  6. Thankyou hermioney2k opinions are always welcome i bow to
    you'r knowledge
  7. I think it has something to do with the place Waldbuhne (on
the other video with Alvarez) which Netrebko always loves to
    perform. Just a comment.
  8. Netrebko looks bored, try her and Alvares for a much better
    performance would welcome some opinions,
  9. It is also intelligent on Vargas' part to control his volume
in compliance with the composer's intent - which is to
produce a haunting, faint but audible blending of sounds
suggesting physical distance from the stage. It absolutely
does not make sense for the singers to go full throttle off
stage singing to the walls, when the paying audience could
benefit from the full impact of the singers pregnant high Cs
delivered right at their face from the stage. Nevertheless,
    this is very enjoyable.
  10. Vargas' decision here not to go full blast with the high C
is wise and intelligent. Wise because he had a lot of heavy
singing left after this duet, and he needed to pace himself
well. Immediately following this is the Rigoletto quartet
which IMO is five times more demanding than this duet. Then
there's a highly energetic solo number and the closing
ensemble piece. It's not like in the opera where the tenor
can go all out with the high C and then get saved by the
    intermission right after that .
  11. I've seen Netrebko in tight jeans---her voice no longer
matters. I will always think she's the greatest soprano
    ever.
  12. I have to agree with Theinquisitive4Ever and
iltenoredramatico, this tenor should have ended in High C,
but guess what, he doesn't have a solid one, he belongs to
the same troops: Villazon, Domingo, Alagna....
  13. This duet should end with a top C by the tenor. Vargas's top
note is weak at best. His remaining top notes sound pushed.
Pavarotti at age 52 (with Mirella Freni) was still flying
over that staff with a glorious top C. And spare me the
counter argument that the original score calls for Eb. No
tenor sings it as such as it wouldn't sound elegant. Freni
in her 50s was singing better than Netrebko -she's just a
centerfold of Opera Lite-Meets-MTV. 25 years ago, she'd be
    booed off of the stage.
  14. Very beautiful by both of them I think. I don't understand
the criticism of Netrebko. I think she has a lovely voice!
  15. SIMPLY BREATHTAKING!!!!!!
  16. Why do people negate IlTenore. He is absolutely right! Get a
clue people! He's another mexican tenor who sounds hooted,
monochromatic, and throaty; none of which is considered as
part of good operatic singing. I won't bother commenting on
Netrebko. She's just a postergirl of the opera world.
    Hideous coloratura...
  17. Wow...I realize this is a concert, but she is really making
every little aside an aria...WAY oversung across the board
for her. He is more natural and looks as though he has
performed Rodolfo many times, as I am sure he has. Her
acting is very effected and stylized...not my favorite
rendition. Still, they both have wonderful throats, so this
is probably just a bad night.
  18. All right, this is another point of view. I completely
disagree, but I respect your opinion.
  19. idiot doesnt have a high C and went for it.
  20. rather, i think the opposite. i think vargas is pathetic,
and i think netrebko is pretty good
  21. Beautiful song, beautiful opera, La Boheme. I believe each
of these singers is considered one of the greatest of
today's singers. I am just used to listening to this piece
sung by the old-time singers like Jussi Bjorling and Renata
Tebaldi (there is one posted on YouTube) so it's a bit
different but I enjoyed comparing comparing them. Thank you
    for posting.
  22. this song makes me cry
  23. Well done Vargas, Netrebko awful as usual.
  24. Ramon Vargas is simply amazinging! Nebtreko is good too.
thought at the end she over sang the high note, as most of
her singing. She has an amazing talent.
  25. I love this women end her voice
